Fall Winterization

Sprinkler System winterization for homes in the Midwest
The Midwestern parts of the United States have freezing temperatures in the winter months, which freezes the ground, intern freezing any water left in your underground sprinkler lines. For this reason, sprinkler systems need to have the water removed (i.e. blown out) and drained down from pipes exposed to the bitter cold. Winterizations are completed in October and the first part of November. Doctor Sprinkler offers Outside only and Full-Service winterization.
Our outside only winterization make it easy for you. You turn off the water in the basement, proceed outside to semi-drain the sprinkler system, then return inside to open the drain in the basement (your drain maybe outside) and proceed to drain the pipes inside and then closing your drain. We then come over and hook up a professional grade COMMERCIAL AIR COMPRESSOR to your system and blow out all the remaining water from your system. It is important to know why we use a COMMERCIAL AIR COMPRESSOR. The commercial air compressor has a constant air flow (usually 80 PSI) and thus all water in forced from the underground system. The residential air compressors just do not have the volume needed to push the water over the long distances of piping to remove all water. The best part is you do not need to be home for us to deliver this service.
Our complete winterization includes: we schedule and appointment which is convenient to you. We come to you home and proceed down to the basement so we can turn the water off for you. We then proceed outside and hook up a professional grade COMMERCIAL AIR COMPRESSOR to your system and blow out all the remaining water from your system. Again, it is important to know why we use a COMMERCIAL AIR COMPRESSOR. The commercial air compressor has a constant air flow (usually 80 PSI) and thus all water in forced from the system. The residential air compressors just do not have the volume needed to push the water long distances to remove all water. We then proceed back into your home, back down to the sprinkler system shut-off and open the drain and let the remaining water drain into a bucket. We close the drain when we are done. Your winterization is complete.
